I’m a big fan of knitting books and all the information they contain. I love to talk about knitting, craft, knitting ideas, and all the other things that go into a good knitting book.
Well, I’m not a big fan of knitting books, but I guess I am a big fan of The Knitting Chronicles by Karen Pryor, a series of books that really makes me think about knitting and all the things that go into the process. I’m always looking for new knitting books and I’m excited to learn more about the process of making the yarn and then combining it with other fibers to create something new.
So I love the concept of the Knitting Chronicles, I love the fact that Karen Pryor is a knitter and that you can take these knitting books and turn them into a book about the process of creating something new. The books are fun to read, I can’t stop myself from turning the pages, and I love the fact that with The Knitting Chronicles Karen Pryor does a book about the process of knitting.
The problem is knitting books that are made up of yarns. I don’t know if there’s a solution for this, but most of the yarn companies I know of seem to have a hard time giving you a yarn that you can knit into a book. Most of the yarn companies I know of will sell you 1/16 of a yard of yarn, and it’s not even close.
That’s a great point, and I think it may be a way to find out if yarn companies are willing to give us yarns that are actually knit into books. I’ll see if I can get that to you.
Well I have a good idea. I can make a little chart and show you how all the yarn companies I know sell yarn. I’m not sure if I should post it on this thread, but if you’re interested in the idea please email me and I’ll see if I can get it to you.
The problem is that the word “book” is actually written in a language that most people in the United States don’t comprehend. But I think we should be careful about how we describe books as things. The word book isn’t a noun. As far as we are concerned books are things. They are made up of multiple elements. The most common element is the printed paper and binding. Then you have the words, pictures, and the font used on the page.
Knitting books is one of those things. I like it because it allows me to describe books for other people and they can see the process in which they are made. I have been working on my first book for a while now and I hope to finish it in the next couple weeks. The book is a combination of knitting, knitting patterns and knitting lessons.
My plan is to give a quick glimpse of my process to those who are interested. For those who are interested in learning more, the book will be available for purchase soon after it’s finished.
