Yet there are two known cases of this condition with doctors at the Mayo Clinic. We know about one woman who was born missing her tongue due to injury during birth; she had surgery where they “created” a new tongue for her from part of her intestine or stomach lining because the oral speech wasn’t possible for her otherwise.
