I’ve seen a lot of people on the internet asking this question. It’s a simple one to answer, but I think it’s important that we do. Parchment paper is not edible and should never be used in cooking or baking- so don’t put it in your oven! But can you microwave parchment paper? The answer is yes, for a limited time only. The parchment paper will be fine in the microwave for a short amount of time.

As long as you use it to make something that is not edible, like popcorn or toast- and your attention remains on the food until it has finished cooking- then everything should go well. But don’t put any frozen foods into the microwave using parchment paper because there’s no good way to predict how much heat will transfer too quickly from the sheet onto your ice cream cone! You can do all sorts of things with microwaved parchment paper including making rice crispy treats or heating up coffee cups. You just need to remember that since this type of paper is meant for baking only, you shouldn’t leave anything other than these two items in its path for more
