This Week's Recipe is Strawberry Mojito!

It comes from the “Refresh” drinks section of the “101 Recipe Book” which comes free with every Aquatiser order!

Ingredients

6 Strawberries
1 Lime
1 Spring of Mint

Bottom Container: 6 thinly sliced strawberries.
Middle Juicer: 1 thinly sliced strawberry
Top Container: 2 slices of lime and some spring mint.

Instructions

The bottom container is for storage. Use this section of the Juicer Bottle to store additional fruit for later use. Throughout the day you can pull the fruit from here to add to the middle juicer with every refill. This should provide you with 6-8 refills, for freshly flavored water throughout the day!

What is a Juicer Bottle?

The Juicer Bottle by Aquatiser is the first water bottle featuring a built-in juicer. Simply add your favorite healthy produce to the juicing compartment, and twist to release the flavor. Move fruit into the juicing compartment whenever necessary and enjoy naturally flavored and delicious water throughout the day.

Benefits of Strawberries

1. PROMOTES SKIN VITALITY
The Vitamin C in strawberries is used by the body to produce collagen, a protein essential to skin health. A healthy supply of collagen helps skin stay soft and springy while also repairing damaged skin cells. In addition, vitamin C serves as a free radical-scavenger, fighting the development of skin cancer and premature aging.

2. IMPROVES IMMUNE SYSTEM FUNCTION
Just one serving of strawberries offers about 150% of the body’s daily Vitamin C requirement. This is essential in helping the body fight off infection and disease, from the common cold to the flu. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals that damage healthy DNA.

3. LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE
Strawberries are an excellent source of potassium, which counters the effects of sodium in the body and reduces blood pressure. In addition to battling hypertension and related cardiovascular disease, a diet rich in potassium can help lower mortality risk in general.

4. TREATS SYMPTOMS OF ARTHRITIS AND GOUT

Free radicals contribute to the inflammation and deterioration of the muscles and tissues of the body. As a result, the joints don’t function as they should and harmful toxins build up, causing conditions like arthritis and gout. The antioxidants in strawberries help reduce these free radicals, detoxify the body, and reduce inflammation.

5. OFFERS PROTECTION AGAINST CANCER

Special components found in strawberries called flavonoids have the power to fight cancer and reduce oxidative stress. These flavonoids, such as anthocyanins, quercetin, and kaempferol act as a defensive line against the development of cancer and tumors.

Note: Strawberries are one of the most heavily sprayed fruits, so consider buying organic to limit your exposure to pesticides. This versatile fruit can be eaten as a snack or used as an ingredient in various ways, such as in smoothies, desserts, dressings, or in a salad.

Benefits of Limes

1. HELPS IMPROVE DIET

A recent study in Nutritional Epidemiology showed that people who drank more water instead of sugary drinks, such as soda or juice, showed an improvement in health. People who drank water instead of sweetened drinks saw a significant reduction in the amount of sugar and fat found in their body on a daily basis.

2. AIDS IN DIGESTION

Limes contain compounds that help stimulate digestive secretions in the stomach. Also, the acid in the lime juice helps the saliva break down food.

3. REDUCES CHANCES OF CANCER DEVELOPMENT

Several studies show a link between citrus fruit and a reduced risk of some types of cancer. A 2015 study in Medicine (Baltimore) showed a possible link between increased citrus fruit consumption and a diminished risk of esophageal cancer. However, more research is required.

4. IMPROVES SKIN QUALITY

Limes contain vitamin C and antioxidants, both of which are ingredients in many commercial skin products. When consumed with water, the natural ingredients in the lime juice can help improve the appearance of aging skin.

Benefits of Mint

1. SOOTHES UPSET STOMACH

The cooling effects of menthol in peppermint tea help to soothe an upset stomach in several ways. First, menthol relaxes the stomach muscles that can contract and cause cramping. The cooling effect of menthol can improve circulation and relieve inflammation that causes stomach pains.

2. TREATS BAD BREATH

It's no accident that most toothpaste contains some form of peppermint. With a clean, fresh feeling and menthol that fights halitosis that causes bad breath, peppermint is a true hero when it comes to fresh breath.

3. PREVENTS THE COMMON COLD

Mint contains menthol, a natural aromatic decongestant that helps to break up phlegm and mucus, making it easier to expel. Menthol also has a cooling effect and can help relieve a sore throat, especially when combined with tea.

4. PREVENTS INDIGESTION AND GAS

Mint is a calming and soothing herb that has been used for thousands of years to aid with upset stomach or indigestion. Mint is thought to increase bile secretion and encourage bile flow, which helps to speed and ease digestion (and which may also support healthy cholesterol levels).
